Feast of Tabernacles 1999

Let Feast sponsors know now where you are planning to attend! It is very difficult to plan a Feast when the number of people attending is unknown. Time and money are wasted if estimates are too high. Facilities are too crowded if estimates are too low. Are you not sure yet? It is still better to let them know now and change your mind later if necessary.

• Unless otherwise noted, all sites use the Hebrew calendar—the evening of September 24 through October 2, 1999.

• We are happy to print information on other Feast sites that welcome all brethren regardless of organizational affiliation.

• Please send information on such sites to Servants’ News (see contact information on page 2 or back cover).Butler State Park, Kentucky

Houston & Dolly Holland, George & Pam Dewey, Norman & Marleen Edwards and other brethren will be hosting a Feast of Tabernacles site at Butler State Park, Carrollton, Kentucky. This feast is to be a "family reunion" of the Body of Christ. It will be designed for a maximum amount of praise, learning, sharing, fellowship and fun with other believers. (See page 1 of Sept/Oct 1998 Servants’ News for this site’s goals.) We plan to make this Feast a memorable, enjoyable and spiritually profitable event for every member of the family.

Omega Praise Fellowship in Oregon

Imagine keeping God’s fall moed (appointed time) among tall, fragrant fir, pine and cedar trees. Imagine cool nights and a warm hall in which to fellowship with like-minded brethren. Imagine bright autumn days walking with family/friends on graveled paths between expanses of grass-covered knolls. Imagine the joy and peace of the Feast of Tabernacles—and imagine keeping it with us, Omega Praise Fellowship of southern Oregon, at Fir Point Bible Conference Camp.

This fine facility is located about 5 miles off Interstate 5 (Exit 80), just outside the southern Oregon community of Glendale. The camp has large and small cabins, and RV sites. Recreational opportunities include a large sports "pavilion", suitable for basketball or volleyball, hiking trails, horse shoe pits and more. Meals, including a Very Special one on Erev Shabbat (October 1st), will be provided at the dining hall by the Camp Directors, John and Sharon Wilcox. Cost for all of this: $55 a day per couple ($27.50 per day for a single person) will cover all meals and housing. Children of those attending who are 18 years and under, will be free.

Our vision of the Feast of Tabernacles is people meeting together as though they were already part of the family of God—a Feast where we worship and study, share meals and fellowship together in a peaceful and joyous atmosphere. It is a Feast where songs of praise and dances of worship are woven into our services. It’s a Feast where we are encouraged to participate by "Bringing our talents" to share with the brethren our Heavenly Father has inspired to join with us.

FOTIn Thailand for $2000

Attention former ACstudents, project participants, and Church of God members who have been to Thailand! Also, to those who have always wanted to visit!

From 1987 through 1992, Church of God members from all over the world enjoyed getting together to keep the Feast of Tabernacles in the Kingdom of Thailand. When the political situation would permit, our Karen brethren would join us. We all enjoyed a rich and rewarding cultural as well as spiritual experience, visiting palaces, temples and hilltribe villages and meeting together for services in elegant, first class hotels. This opportunity is again available.

Leon Sexton, elder and long-time Thailand expert is arranging a Feast site in Thailand for 1999. He was the point-man for the feasts there for the first 3 years and arranged hotel accommodations and all cultural visits, particularly to Chitralada Palace, the royal residence of King Bhumibol and Queen Sirikit. The Thailand site will be open to all various Church of God groups without discrimination. Elders from our various fellowships will be invited to attend and present sermons to the participants. Costs should come in under $2000 USD per person for shared accommodations. As before, this would cover round trip air fare Los Angeles to Bangkok & Chaing Mai; all accommodations, food, ground transportation and other fees.

In order to make this work, Mr. Sexton needs to know how many persons would be interested in keeping the Feast in Thailand in 1999. If you are seriously interested, Please contact Mr. Sexton with: 1. The number of persons in your family who will attend. 2. Your contact information such as address, telephone number, fax and/or email.

At least 100 participants are required to make this work. So please contact Leon Sexton as soon as possible. Phone: 972-412-4909; fax: 972-412-7886; e-mail: Glomar7@juno.com. &
